| DW, Caldwell - Idaho | June 18, 2010 | Our old AirVac 525A had been getting noisier over the past couple years and my wife was complaining of reduced suction. I considered replacing the entire power unit instead of having the old one repaired. However, when researching new units it seemed that just replacing the motors and permanent bag might be a reasonable and much cheaper alternative. Your site convinced me that the work was within my capability and your prices were the best I could find. The 525A uses two of these motors (119412 Lamb Ametek) and even though only one of the old ones was noisy, I decided to replace both at the same time. Replacing them was very easy using common hand tools. It did take me a few minutes to determine that it didn't make any difference which way the motors were wired (other than the ground wires), and the unit worked perfectly after I finished the installation. It's noticeably quieter now and according to my wife the suction is considerably stronger. I don't know about long-term reliability, but right now I'm very happy with the performance of these replacement motors as well as the money that I saved by replacing them myself.

NOTE: There are two digits following the six digit Lamb Ametek motor number are -00 unless otherwise noted. Regardless of the -## they can replace each other. However, -13 should be used in all vacuums involving water. -07 motors simply have different wire ends. Motors can be used in vacuum and blower applications.
