Lots of sparking but brushes are long.
Question: Hi, My motor smells and sparks like crazy when running. The brushes appear fairly long, more than 1/2 inch each. Do the brushes have to been worn down to less than 3/16 before replacing? Would they need replacing if they are long enough?
CVO's Answer:
There are other reasons why the brushes are sparking. The armature that they touch may be beat up, meaning the motor will need to replaced. The bearings may be going out which means there is a slight wabble and the motor will need to be replaced.
Question: 1. what's the part # of the motor brushes for Vacuflo 260 2. what part # for the vacuum motor circuit board I need to order one each

Hello and thank you for contacting Central Vacuum Online my name is Ally and I am happy to assist you today.

We will need the number from the motor you are needing the replacement motor brushes for. They are sold individually but we recommend replacing them in pairs. There are (2) motor brushes in each motor and each motor brush is specific to each motor. 

We recommend the M-CB15A for this model. Be aware that these are generic circuit boards and will wire the same as your original board but may not mount in the same holes as the original. Please call us if you have any other questions regarding circuit board compatibility. 
Question: I need new brushes for the original motor in a Nutone VX475C central vac. It isn't labeled as an Ametek Lamb 119631. All the pictures I see for replacement brushes don't look like the brushes I removed. Can you help me find replacements that are just like the ones I removed? I can send pictures if that helps. Also, one of the brushes is worn down completely while the other still has about 34" left. Is that a concern? The motor worked just fine until just recently when it started overheating and stopping and now won't run at all. I assume it is because the one brush is no longer contacting the armature.

The brushes that we sell are for the motors that we have in stock. We would identify the compatible brush based on the Lamb Amatek motor.
