Dense and spongy gasket is about 3/8" thick / 7.2" in diameter and used for central vacuum motors. The purpose of this gasket is to prevent metal on metal contact when bolting your motor. Some units will have specific better-fitting gaskets included. If this is the case for your vacuum, please re-use the original gasket.

Fit and functions perfectly.
No directions included, but it's a simple installation with a peel-off backing.
Several size options in one gasket, and it can be further cut to size if needed.

Does this gasket set on the top of the motor just under the lid?

This gasket is only for the wider part of the motor to sit on. It doesn't replace any top gasket or mesh or foam on top of the thinner side of the motor.

Question:
The original gasket is exactly the same size as the opening. The new one is larger than the opening. The original is spongy and the new one is foam. I realize this is to keep metal off metal but wasn’t sure the impact of the larger circle not being the same size as the original. Please advise. Thank you. Kenn

The gasket that was purchased is a 7.2in motor gasket meat for the motor which, should be the smae diameter.
Question:
Should this gasket fit the Ametek Lamb Motor MOTOR, 3 STAGE 7.2" TANGENTIAL DISCHARGE #116119-00? My understanding is that without the gasket, the motor will not fit properly but also will not produce a seal strong enough for the vacuum to work properly?
