Fuse Plug for Electric Hose - (2-pin and cuff)

This is a hose conversion kit and replacement kit. This part replaces the pigtail cord assembly or an existing broken assembly on electric hoses with an electrical 2-pin direct connection on the wall end. This includes a cuff, one 2-pin plug (with molded-in 5 amp fuse - replaces 7 amp versions) with one male pin connection (to connect to the yellow hose wire) and one female slate connection (to connect to the white hose wire), instructions and a tiny slat to convert the white wire from pin to slat (older hoses have two male pins instead of the modern one pin, one slate configuration).

Where is the Fuse?

Question: the name implies there's a fuse. where? and is there a trick for opening the two clasps?

CVO's Answer:

The regulation requirements for these hoses actually puts a diode into the molded plastic. It is not really a fuse in the traditional sense of being able to access or replace it but acts like a fuse in that it will short if need be.

Question: I have a Beam Serenity 2500 central vac. which is about 25 years old and the connectors on the hose where it connects to the direct connect at the wall are broken. Would this Fuse-Plug repair it? We have 2 hoses, one just has direct connect suction and the other (which is the broken one) does suction and activates the power head for carpet. The picture you show doesn't look quite like what I see in our broken hose

It depends our items are standard if your current hose has a P with a circle on it or it indicates that it is an XY series then yes it will be.
