worked out great. I changed the brushes in the existing holders and the vacuum is running good as new. one thing though is this procedure would not work for someone with no electrical experience. it requires soldering the lead onto the old contact. theres not much room for sloppy work to fit the assembly back into the holder so the brush slides freely. none of the brush choices match my holders as an assembly to order. I have over 30 years experience in electrical electronics. no sense throwing out a perfectly good motor. any how thanks ever so much for your help and understanding about my initial wrong order.
