Our 10-year-old central Vac started generating a burning smell in the garage. Rather than replacing the whole unit which came at over $2.5k I wanted to take it apart and replace the motor myself. I purchased one and planned on taking it apart after I receive the motor. Once I received the motor I proceeded to disassemble the ssdd. Upon disassembly I realized that the darn thing has two motors of the 220v variety. So I put everything on hold and proceeded to purchase the second motor. The process is more difficult when it comes to two motors and in my case one of the motor mount nuts anchor starting spinning Which made things more challenging. A short trip to Home Depot solved that and managed to assemble everything. This wasn?t an easy task but with my knowledge and patience I managed to get the unit up and running with good suction powers. I am glad it was easy to find parts and there isn?t any of this new crazy smart boards inside the unit that renders the whole unit worthless. I would definitely buy again. .
